Detailed description of heat treatment process of steel pipe (seamless steel pipe)

The conditioning of seamless steel tubes is a comprehensive heat treatment process of quenching and high temperature tempering. Most of the quenched and tempered parts work under relatively large dynamic loads. They are subjected to tensile, compression, bending, twisting, or shearing. Some surfaces also have friction and require certain wear resistance. In short, parts work under various composite stresses. Such parts are mainly structural parts of various machines and institutions, such as shafts, connecting rods, bolts, gears, etc., and are commonly used in the manufacturing industry of machine tools, automobiles, and tractors. Especially for large components in the manufacture of heavy machinery, the refining process is used more often. Therefore, the quenching and tempering process occupies a very important position in the heat treatment.
In the mechanical products, the quality of the quenched and tempered parts is not exactly the same because of the different stress conditions. In general, all kinds of quenching and tempering parts should have excellent comprehensive mechanical properties, namely the appropriate combination of high strength and high toughness, in order to ensure the smooth and long-term parts work.
The heat treatment process of the steel pipe includes annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering and surface heat treatment. Tempering includes tempering and aging treatments.
Tempering of the steel tube: reheating the steel that has been quenched to a certain temperature and cooling it by a certain method is called tempering. Its purpose is to eliminate the internal stress generated by quenching, reduce hardness and brittleness, in order to achieve the desired mechanical properties.
The quenching and tempering usually refers to quenching and high temperature tempering to obtain a tempering process of tempered sorbite. The method is quenching first, the quenching temperature: the hypoeutectoid steel is Ac3+30~50°C; the hypereutectoid steel is Ac1+30~50°C; the alloy steel can be slightly higher than the carbon steel. After quenching, it can be tempered at 500-650°C. The main purpose of the modulation is to obtain comprehensive mechanical properties with good strength, plasticity, and toughness.
However, at the same time, it should be noted that there are quenched and tempered steels. Quenching and tempering steel is the process of adding manganese during the smelting of steel and silicon. The difference should be noted.
